1:15 pm. incredibly irritable. no particular cause detected. i wish there were people around so i could snap at them. no, not really.

1:17 pm. i just realized i'm premenstrual. hilarious. feeling relieved.








1:22 pm. image searched "premenstrual" on google and i was going to post the first image that came up, but it was kind of alarming (as were several others). so i chose this one:



















3:10 pm. poppy sent another email to me and some ladies with the following image plus about 25 more. i was going to upload several but it takes a million years, and you know... i'm at work. i don't do that kind of thing.

so if you google my "first middle last name blog," which i will not actually write out here due to fear that it will further increase my googleability, it comes up with my blog as the second item. which won't do, since if someone snoopy (P, or P for example) googled it i would probably die (get fired).
so i've changed my name (herpes) in both "real name" and "display name" but i'm still so googleable! mercedes! help me! i can't find "first middle last" anywhere on my whole blog, profile or settings.
surely something can be done.

U.S. School Kids Donate More to Katrina Relief Than Most Big Corporations

School children across the United States have raised more money for Katrina relief efforts than many major U.S. corporations, according to a non-profit group, RandomKid, which has tracked donations by children.

Over $10 million was raised by school kids through bake sales, lemonade stands, car washes and other fundraisers, according to RandomKid. That's more than almost every major U.S. corporation gave. More than wealthy oil and petrochemical companies, such as Chevron and ConocoPhillips. It's more than what AT&T and Verizon gave combined. And it's more than major brand name corporations like GE and Coca-Cola gave.

Only five U.S. corporations gave more than what was raised by the school kids, according to recently released report by the Foundation Center, a non-profit organization that has tracked Katrina relief donations.

i would just like to add

that i'm reading this paper by a colleague (with a PhD) of keren's about how great this guy dick ladd was. mr ladd apparently "ushered in the Big Bang theory of Long Term Care" by advocating the belief that "institutions should not be the center of the Long Term Care Universe."

one of the great things mentioned about dick ladd is:

"Dick had great respect for research and for statistical analysis, but not if it kept him from reaching the conclusions he believed in."

that seems, to me, to be bad.

sheila will be moving in this coming weekend. max is still in town and leaves tomorrow. also, tara's whole family has been in town and they are leaving today. evan was kind of rude at first but got nicer toward the end. i've moved upstairs and it is all very different up there now. i like it! maybe i will take pictures with max's camera and post them on max's computer before he goes. i'm at work and my boss isn't here and still hasn't gotten back to me about a billion projects, so... well, i do have work to do, of course. but not that much.
