additionally, and most importantly, I FOUND A GRAMMATICAL ERROR IN A WILLIAM SAFIRE ON LANGUAGE COLUMN, AND I AM NOT JOKING.
In all IM (initialese for "instant messaging," a phrase that speed-writers apparently find too time-consuming to spell out or have already forgotten what it stands for) as well as in much email, banality is dressed in seven-league boots and triviality is treated with urgency.

what do you mean, where's the error? the "it" is just dangling in there! it should be something like, "initialese for 'instant messaging,' a phrase that speed-writers apparently find too time-consuming to spell out or whose meaning has already been forgotten." can't have that "it." uh-uh. you may or may not be egging me on, i'm not sure.
